Who Is COAL?
The Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League (COAL) was formed in August, 1951, by a small group of emerging and established artists to promote art education and cultural appreciation of fine art in the community.
COAL is a tax-exempt organization whose primary purpose is to serve a public rather than a private interest. COAL is supported, as funding allows, by public demonstrations, student scholarships, outdoor displays, art exhibitions, art classes and workshops, cultural tours, and a main gallery. COAL currently has approximately 250 artist members.
